You must Plan at least 30 minutes before pinging about an event.
You must Ping at least 30 minutes before an event.
DO NOT use any blacklisted items.
Events can be classed into three categories.
1. Pre-Event (Planning)
2. Event Time (Time to do it)
3. Post Event (Clean up & logging)
This is arguably the most important step in the process of an event!
The first step is getting an idea for an event. Below are some essential items you should think about while in the idea phase of the event.
What kind of event are you going to do?
Do you need anyone to assist you?
What should the server population be at?
What kind of jobs do you need to participate in the event? Such as MTF, Research, and or SCPs.
Does your event require any setup? (The answer should almost always be yes.)
Now that you have an idea for your event, it is time to set it up. During this step, there are a few things you need to ask. Now remember you can always do some of these steps when you do the last step in this section (Announcement time). But remember, some should be done before, just in case you run into any hiccups.
Does your event require a specific model? (Almost always yes).
Does your event require any props to be set up? (If yes, you should do this now and make dupes of the props.)
If needed, what kind of weapons/entities will you be using? (Ensure to follow guidelines).
Brief your helpers on what needs to be done and what their role in the event is.
Have a plan on how you will start and finish the event. Usually, there are too many variables in between to dictate how the event will fully go.
Will your event require any /adverts? If so, set them up beforehand and remember the character count for the chat. The max limit is 126 characters, so ensure you don't exceed that, or it will be cut off. Also, Yes, /advert does count to that limit.
Lastly, The event announcement for it. You will go to Discord and ping about the event. ALL pings MUST be at least 30 minutes before the event starts to give players time to load into the game!!!! What should your announcement include?
A Small backstory for the event. Usually, in the backstory, it will include what kind of event it is.
When will the event take place?
You should always ping @Event Ping, and if you need any specific branches, be sure to mention it as well, but do not do that too often, as people will mute that channel.
A good example of an announcement is below
@Event Ping
