SCP-009 is a red liquid, which turns into either red gas or red crystals under certain temperatures. It appears to be in a liquidized state, when it's temperature is between -100°C (-148°F) and 0°C (32°F). It appears to be in a crystalized state , when it's temperature is above 0°C (32°F) and when the temperature is below -100°C (-148°F), it vaporizes and turns into a red gas.

SCP-009 "turns" every person exposed to it's liquid, gas or solid state. Upon exposure, the skin of any personnel exposed to SCP-009 turns into a light red color and red crystal lumps start to grow of that skin. If SCP-009-2 touches a different personnel, it "infects" said personnel with SCP-009 and the same symptoms appear on the infected personnel.
