During his time at the Aaron Copland School of Music, Scott Lyons, has had many notable performance opportunities. Large ensemble experience includes participating in the Queens College Orchestra, Brass Ensemble, and Wind Ensemble. These performances include showings of Brahms Requiem, Symphonies of Sibelius, works of Holst, and many more. Each semester would also consists of small ensemble works, playing with the Low Brass Ensemble and various quintets. Solo performances consisted of weekly brass repertoire showings and a one time senior recital. Other than performing for queens College, extracurricular performing opportunities are consistent. Scott is a lead trombone player of Phil Costa's Something Special Band which performs all over Long Island. In addition, Scott performs at his local synagogue every fifth Friday of the month for musical shabbat where he also spends time directing and performing with the choir.
