Scott Lyons is a Long Island born New Yorker who graduated from the Aaron Copland School of Music, a part of Queens College, in January of 2024. Scott studied under Haim Avitsur for Trombone and performed in numerous ensembles during his college career. Graduating with a degree in music education, Scott has a instrumental concentration with a focus on band. In this area he is very skilled on secondary instruments and takes pride in having a wide range of musicianship. Scott has created small ensemble arrangements of secular and folk music, some of which he led for performance. To do this he made use of music writing software's such as Musescore and Sibelius. Education takes place both in and out of the classroom as Scott Spends time as a individual lesson instructor for students wanting to expand their musical skills further. Scott also acts as choral director for temple B'nai Israel where he Leads rehearsals and performance's. Being a full time substitute teacher and a Hebrew language tutor has given Scott a well rounded view of education . Scott has always been eager to further his own understanding not only of pedagogies but general knowledge and with language. Scott is currently working on furthering his knowledge of the Spanish language to help facilitate ELL learners and for every day use. By taking college courses, lessons from colleagues, and self learning, Scott is making great strides in coming to read and speak the language.
