Programs
All school events rely on volunteers to make them successful. Almost all of the following list of events require administrative preparation (that can be done from home!), as well as some degree of set-up, during event support, and break-down/clean up. Some of these events take place during the school day, others weekday evenings and some on the weekends. If you are interested in volunteering your time in support of one of these events, please reach out to Kim Maloney or Tricia Humpton.
Lunch Duty
Our fantastic faculty and staff depend on volunteers to both keep lunch running smoothly and our kids safe during recess. Parent (or grandparent!) volunteers also ensure that staff get a much-needed break. Volunteering during lunch is also a wonderful way to get to know your student's classmates and connect with other parents. Volunteers are also welcome to bring younger children who are not yet in school. To ensure coverage and for ease of tracking by school staff, “regular” lunch volunteers are requested to commit to a weekly or every-other-week schedule. In addition to this core group, a monthly schedule will be sent out providing the opportunity to volunteer for those unable to commit to weekly/biweekly. There are also opportunities to sign up as a substitute, and drop-in volunteering is welcome for anyone who has their clearances at any time. (This is most helpful for days with indoor recess.) Interested in signing up as a lunch volunteer or have questions? Reach out to Kelly Meyer.
Homeroom Parents
Each classroom needs two homeroom parents to plan and execute class parties, help celebrate teacher and staff birthdays, and serve as another means of communicating information to parents. Homeroom parents should be available to come in to assist with class parties and other events during the school-day. A request for homeroom parent volunteers takes place at the start of each school year. Questions about serving as a homeroom parent? Pease reach out to Aimee Reynolds or click here.
**It is important to note that any volunteers must have completed the necessary background checks and training. For more information on obtaining your clearances, click HERE.**
