The primary purpose of this Association is to advance quality Catholic education at Ss. Colman-John Neumann School (SCJN) and the welfare of all the school children.
It is also the purpose of this Association to promote parent-school activities, and to support the school's mission, curriculum, activities, and projects through fundraising efforts.
It is also the purpose of this Association to promote open communication and support between the faculty, staff, students, and families, to enhance school spirit, and to foster a Christ-centered environment at SCJN.
The Home and School board is a group of volunteers dedicated to working towards these purposes. The board’s membership includes executive committee members and members of standing committees (each of which has a chair, and many of which have another committee member included on the Board). Executive committee positions last for one year (with the exception of secretary that lasts for two years) and committee chairs typically last for two years, but chairs can stay in positions for longer if if there are no other nominations and with Board approval
In March of school years ending in an even number, nominations for the positions of Secretary, Treasurer, and all Committee Chairs will be solicited from current Board members and the broader SCJN community. In years ending in an odd number, the Board will solicit nominations for any unfilled Board positions.
