This year we held our inaugural math camp for elementary and middle school kids for two weeks with many experienced instructors. We and the students had a great time learning more and more about competition math through fun hands on activities and games. At the end, we even held our own mini-competition.
Our members once again had a blast visiting the Give Kids the World Village! Keeping our “mad scientist” theme, we entertained families with science and robotics demonstrations. This time around, Oobleck and Slime were popular among the children.
Coming out to support us, Field Representative Darren Vierday of Florida’s 9th District Congressman Darren Soto joined alongside us to give the children a memorable night. We are really honored he was able to be there with us and . It was such a memorable experience for us, and we hope to be able to perform again!”
Today, our members visited the Give Kids the World Village and became the entertainers for the night! The theme was Halloween, so we became (and already were) "mad scientists". We set up a couple of science demonstrations for the children to watch and try out for themselves. A few of the popular ones include Boo Bubbles, Cartesian Diver, and Balloon Kebabs. Alongside us, our school's robotics team presented their robot, which the kids loved playing with. It was such a memorable experience for us, and we hope to be able to perform again!
Give Kids The World Village is a nonprofit resort in Kissimmee, Florida for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families. The resort's focus is providing accommodations and access to donated theme park tickets. Their goal, quite simply, is to provide everything these deserving families need to make their trip the vacation of a lifetime.
