- Students doing an oral presentation can choose to enter their project for competition at the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science (PJAS). Regional competition takes place in late Feb or early March. Winning a 1st place there allows the student to compete at the state level at Penn State University. This is entirely optional but highly recommended. Students can win cash, scholarships, recognition, field trips, and extra credit.
PJAS Parent Permission (due the same day as Forms, check your timeline)
Go to

Click "Register as Participant"
Come up with a Username and Password - Create a Google Doc in your Google Drive and write these down there too. You'll use the same username and password in 8th grade and at the high school. It's important that you'll be able to find this info years from now so put them in your Google Drive
On the next page, select Region 3 as your region and fill out the rest. Use your home phone and home address (they won't visit you, but they may mail you a check for cash money)
Choose the category that best fits your project. If you're not sure, google what each category means and figure it out.
Make sure to pick me as your sponsor.
There's a form wizard at the end. Don't worry about this
This must be done by the due date or you will not be permitted to participate.
