Mission Statement
At the Science Academy/Tutoring Center, our mission is to inspire the next generation of scientists, foster academic excellence, and empower students to reach their full potential in science and beyond. Whether a student is preparing for school exams, exploring advanced topics, or building a foundation for a future STEM career, we strive to make science accessible, meaningful, and rewarding for all.
We are committed to providing high-quality, personalized instruction that builds deep understanding, critical thinking skills, and confidence in every learner. Our desire is not to add academic burden or stress to students but to support and help them find joy in their learning. Science Academy/Tutoring Center teachers have a Christian worldview, but the instruction will ensure an open environment.
Meet The Founder
Miseon Seong - PhD
Dr. Seong was captivated by the natural world from a young age. The opening verse of the Bible—“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth”—became a powerful statement in her life, stirring a deep desire to understand the Creator behind the beauty and complexity of nature.
While she was majoring in Biology in college, she discovered the rich diversity within the field, especially cell biology, which ignited her passion. Realizing how limited her K–12 exposure to biology had been, she developed a heart for education, wanting future students to experience the full breadth of life science. After several years as an adjunct and 12 years as a full-time college faculty member involved in both teaching and research, she is now thrilled to begin working with children and college students.
Today, Dr. Seong is a passionate educator who seeks to bridge science, faith, and education, helping children see the wonder of creation through both the microscope and the lens of Scripture.
