Science Buddies Mentoring is led by co-founders Jack Terrell and Alex Wang who are both scientifically inclined individuals who have pursued achievement and excellence in the fields of science. Alex has an interest in the biological sciences and Jack in astrophysics. Both have attended multiple , such as the University of Notre Dame Summer Scholars and the Garcia Summer Research Program. Both have university-level scientific research in their fields have publications in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences. Jack will be attending the University of Pennsylvania next year to study physics, while Alex will be attending Stony Brook University next Fall for the 8-year medical education program.
In Pittsburgh, the Science Buddies Mentoring team is extremely supportive and encouraging of each other's variety of interests in science. High school volunteers foster youth interest by extending their own passion for science, ensuring productivity and dedication during sessions. Science Buddies Mentoring has a growing team of high school student volunteers, as SBM aspires to instill a sense of community outreach duty within everyone.
