SCI-HIGH PROJECT

Spinal Cord Injury (SCI)

Rehabilitation Care

High Performance Indicators

The SCI-High Project, funded by the Ontario Neurotrauma Foundation, Rick Hansen Institute and Toronto Rehabilitation Foundation, was launched in 2016 to identify and establish a core set of indicators that represent optimal care that will ultimately facilitate uniform measurement and benchmarking of the quality of rehabilitation care among individuals with SCI. The main objective of the SCI-High Project is to select, implement and evaluate care indicators with the aim to advance SCI rehabilitation care for Canadians in the first 18 months after inpatient rehabilitation admission by 2021. Some of these indicators and related best practices are currently being implemented in five SCI rehabilitation hospitals across Ontario through the activities of the SCI Implementation and Evaluation Quality of Care Consortium (SCI IEQCC).
