Interests:

Dr. Furlan is a trained head and neck surgeon from Brazil, who holds a MBA degree in Health Administration, an MSc degree in Clinical Epidemiology, and a PhD degree in Surgical Neuroanatomy. He completed residency training in Neurology at University of Toronto in 2014 and a two-year clinical fellowship in Neurorehabilitation and Neural Repair at University of Toronto (June 2016).

His research interests and expertise include outcome measures (clinical, neuroimaging, and neurophysiological assessments), predictors of outcome (sex and age), secondary complications of spinal cord injury after spinal cord injury (autonomic dysfunction and breathing-related sleep disorders), and Health Economics.
