Interests:
Dr. Wolfe is the leader of a research team at Parkwood Institute that integrates clinical and research efforts to improve care and clinical outcomes. He collaborates with administrators and clinicians across the SCI and ABI rehabilitation programs using implementation science and participatory research methods to develop and work within a practice-based clinical research approach.
Dr. Wolfe’s primary research interest is in the area of knowledge mobilization and best practice implementation across rehabilitation and community settings. He is the Network Lead of the SCI Knowledge Mobilization Network (a Learning Collaborative of 6 Canadian SCI rehabilitation sites – www.scikmn.com) and a co-Investigator with the SCI Rehabilitation Evidence review (www.scireproject.com). Other current work is focused on enhancing clinical decision-making to improve locomotor and other movement-related outcomes with more integration of activity-based therapies such as robotic, manual and FES-assisted therapies. In addition, Dr. Wolfe and colleagues are exploring the use of online technologies and patient-reported outcomes to facilitate self-management skills that enable persons with chronic conditions such as SCI and ABI to prevent and better manage secondary complications.
