Acting 1
Students will act and present performances in front of the entire class. Acting introduces what you need to be successful in drama, acting, and play production. Students will develop the skills to use the Actor’s Toolbox (Mind, Body, and Voice) to communicate clearly with the audience and create believable moments as characters on stage. Students will build self-confidence and self-awareness as they prepare and perform monologues, scenes and improvisations in class.
Musical Theatre 1
Students will act, sing, and dance in this class and present performances for the full class. Students' course work focuses on, but is not limited to, acting, vocal performance, dance, non-dance . movement, and staging, which transfer readily to performances in musicals and other venues. Students survey the evolution of music in theatre from ancient Greece to modern Broadway

There is a $25.00 fee for this class.
Acting 2
Students will act and present performances in front of the entire class. This course is designed for students with a year of experience or more. Classwork focuses on characterization, playwriting, and playwrights’ contributions to theatre; while improvisation, creative dramatics, and scene work are used to help students challenge and strengthen their acting skills and explore the technical aspect of scene work.

Theatre 3/4 - HONORS
Students will act and present performances in front of the entire class. This course is designed for students with extensive experience in theatre, and promotes significant depth of engagement and lifelong appreciation for theatre through a broad spectrum of primarily self-directed study and performance. In keeping with the rigor expected in an accelerated setting, students assemble a portfolio that showcases a significant body of work representing personal vision and artistic growth over time; mastery of theatre skills and techniques in one or more areas; and evidence of sophisticated oral and written analytical and problem-solving skills based on their structural, historical, and cultural knowledge.
