I am fascinated by traits that, like most behaviours, are inherently flexible yet individuals seem to exhibit only rather constraint set of variants – despite there being much variation between individuals showing that success can be had in a multitude of ways.
I also am interested in mate choice, sexual selection, and ageing. I love to play with data , and I like a good conundrum that seems complex and breaks my brain. My long-term passion, however, lies with shore- and seabirds. I am thrilled about our current shearwater project.
Personally, I'm an avid hiker, runner, birder, all of this passionately, but not competitively. I'm also doing my best to raise three teenagers to fledging.
Below a few pics from the field courses and expeditions I teach, field work, and other recent adventures.
