I first did the #DisabilityJusticeEducators series for July 2020 (Disability Pride Month), have continued to add to it because we certainly need to think about disability justice every month of the year, and also did a series for #AAPI Heritage Month in May (& June) 2021!
It was an attempt to encourage educators to recognize the diversity within disabled communities, and to push against the exclusion and/or erasure of BIPOC disabled people within school settings.
I honestly wasn't sure if I'd be able to find so many Black disabled advocates and activists of diverse genders and gender identities whose words, work, and actions reflect disability justice (and/or are springboards for conversations about the difference between rights & justice). The series wasn't perfect & I'm continually aiming to learn from disabled individuals that represent all kinds of intersecting identities and experiences.
My hope was/remains that these people’s words and actions will help students recognize that disabled BIPOC have been fighting for justice for a long time, and in diverse and collective ways, and that they, too, can be a part of that narrative.
The images are arranged by oldest post at the top, and if you click on any image (which now all have alt-text), it takes you to original Instagram post. There you can click through to see a quote from the person, some suggested activities, and ways to support and/or learn more from them. Image descriptions are also listed in comments & alt-text in the original posts.
(These aren't links, unfortunately, just an overview since the page got pretty long!)

Please donate to these amazing advocates and activists (linked under each name to make it easier)!
Capitalism is terrible, but under this oppressive system, financial support is often a meaningful way to demonstrate value, and these people are incredibly valuable (in and of themselves, and to disability justice movements).
I would also like to clarify that I do not have the consent of each individual to use their images or words (I do for some! & of course will respect anyone that tells me to take down or alter their post). In the interest of transparency: I've donated to each of them (where there was a way to do so), and I will continue to do so, but if you have learned anything from them, please donate directly (how-to is on the 4th image in each post).
