During ELA Night, students and their families were invited to come and play games and learn about the different standards and expectations for 5th grade. We also announced the winner of the Dare a Teacher Challenge that our class "Won"!Â
We had a visit from the Diary Farm. The students met "Daisy" a dairy cow and learned all about the process of bringing milk and other dairy products to market. It was a great experience.
Our First PE Unit of the year was Basketball. They students learned the fundamentals of basketball including dribbling, passing, shooting, ball control and of course playing the game. The students made so much growth during this unit.
Learning our Math Multiplication Facts are extremely important to be successful in math. During class and participating in our Annual Math Night parents and students saw first hand the importance of learning these facts and how they can lead to better success in math class.
During the first couple of weeks of school building a community of trust and joy helps learners succeed. We spent time playing cooperative games and activities to help each of us work together to build a strong classroom community.
