We preserve and multiply the inheritance

The Museum of history and local lore of school №2 of Zelva was opened on April 29, 2005 in order to improve intra-school system of patriotic education of pupils, to form and develop their civil qualities. It had functioned on the fourth floor of the school building for 9 years.

It so happened that in 2014, due to the placement of Gymnasium № 1 on this floor, the Museum had to look for a new room. In fact, since 2014, we have started to create the old Museum anew and since the summer of 2017, the updated exposition began to receive guests.

During this time, work was carried out to repair the former classrooms of the workshops in accordance with the requirements. With the help of plastic panels the windows were darkened, the walls were plastered, then a backlight was done. New showcases for exhibits were purchased. The area of the Museum was divided into zones, which housed three expositions: "My native land“," History of the school” and "Long miles of war".

The first tourists in the renovated Museum were the children of School №2 labor camp and the children from the health camp of Borodichi kindergarten-primary school.

The exhibition "My native Land..."tells about the life of our ancestors late the 19^th -early of the 20^th century. The highlight of the collection is a life-size model of a coal stove. Tourists are given the opportunity to act as hosts and mistresses, using a variety of museum items: churns, a shovel for bread, forks for pots, jugs, irons and so on. On the basis of this exposition 4 excursions are held: "My native Land (history of creation, architecture, natural monuments)“, " Clothing of our ancestors“, " Things can say (household items and household tools of people in Zelva district in XVIII-XX centuries.)", " …and hand weaves thoughfully... " (folk craftsmen of Zelva district).

The exhibition "Long miles of war" is a great opportunity to learn about the great Patriotic war, partisan movement in Zelva district, the heroes-liberators, as well as about the features of the occupation regime.

The excursion includes video materials - recordings of conversations with veterans and young prisoners. Excursions are offered for those wishing: "The beginning of the Great Patriotic War. The emergence of the partisan movement, "Commanders of the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945," Military operations "Bagration. The Liberation of Zelva "and" Juvenile Prisoners. "

The exhibition "History of School" tells about the history of development of education in general and in Zelva district in particular.

Familiarity with school uniforms and supplies is organized in an interactive form: visitors can compare the record-books of their great-grandparents with modern ones, find out what "promokashka" is for, and "put on " school uniforms of pupils of the past. They can choose a tour to taste: " I am a teacher, and I am proud of it (career guidance tour for high school students)," Pride of the school - its graduates (famous graduates of the school) "or" And there were already a lot of them... Today there are 464 exhibits in the museum fund, 235 of them are objects of the main fund.

The main directions of our work are collection of funds, registration and preservation of museum collections, exposition and cultural and educational work. In accordance with the directions, search work, design of expositions are carried out, work of the Council, sectors, expeditionary tasks, competition for the best find are planned. Pupils are divided into search teams, which study documents of archives, auxiliary literature, engage in search and collection activities, record readings and memories, carry out photo and video recordings, make audio recordings, hold meetings with famous fellow citizens. Members of the Council of the Museum carry out excursions for children and adults , organize local history games and trips for pupils of junior forms, take part as volunteers at the "Gannensky kirmash," advertise tourist opportunities of Zelva and Zelva district at republican and international exhibitions of tourist services.

The museum’s research activities are marked by diplomas and certificates not only at the district, but also at the regional and republican levels. Over the past three years, we have received diplomas of the Ist degree at the regional stage of the contest “Let's go back to the past” (for the excursion route “Zelvensky shrines”) and the republican stage of the competition “I am proud of my native land” (for the project “The mill will grind - there will be flour”)

Diplomas of the second degree at the regional scientific-practical conference "Crystal Alpha" (for the research work "Zelvensky Starfall: the activities of the literary association" Stars over the Zelvyanka ") and the regional competition of photos" turning old albums’ pages . The work of students at the republican competition "70 years of Victory" in the nomination "For Respect to the Memory of the Liberators" was also awarded with a diploma.

The members of the Museum Council are working to improve their skills by visiting the interests of the Young Tour Guide, which operates at the Center for Contemporary Arts, and also study at the Museum School distance school at the Republican Center for Ecology and Local History, where they show excellent results.

So, in 2016/2017 graduates of school Ksenija Zhabrun and Svetlana Stupchyk entered the top ten according to the results of two years of study and received the corresponding certificates.
