The Covenants Committee has been asked to develop Renter Guidelines for Summer Camp.
This document is currently a draft and we are seeking input from our homeowners to help us produce a document that will facilitate renters visiting our community in a harmonious manner. Use the form at the bottom of this page to submit a comment or a suggestion for the Summer Camp Beach Renter Guidelines. Please reference the rule number in your response.
In order to maintain the lifestyle we all enjoy at Summer Camp Beach, please review and abide by the following guidelines while visiting our community.
Renters are reminded that Summer Camp is a residential community, not a resort. As such, quiet hours are 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM Sundays through Fridays and 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM Fridays through Sundays.
Please observe posted speed limits.
Renters must park all passenger vehicles in the driveway. There is no streetside parking.
Boats/jet skis on trailers, RVs, cargo trailers, and utility trailers must be parked in a garage or under a lean-to. They may not be parked in a driveway, yard, or on the street. The clubhouse parking lot can be used for overflow parking. Renters need to be aware of how many parking spots are available so they can plan to carpool or use the clubhouse parking lot for extra vehicles or trailers.
All users of the swimming pool must wear wristbands at all times while inside the swimming pool gate.
Don’t leave food outside, especially overnight. It will attract animals.
All rental units have a trash receptacle inside of a bear resistant box. Please use the appropriate garbage receptacles and do not put garbage in a neighbor’s trash receptacle.
No hanging towels on balcony railings if they are visible from outside of the lot.
Grills and fire pits must be attended to and extinguished after use.
Franklin County Ordinance 2017-07 deems it illegal for a dog to run at large in any public space, which includes all areas of Summer Camp Beach except for the homeowner’s yard. Fines of up to $500 may be assessed by Franklin County. Dog owners are required to keep dogs on leash and to pick up dog waste when walking dogs.
Please access the beach from designated walkways and do not trespass on private property of homeowners.
Please do not drive golf carts, drag kayaks, across, erect shade canopies, etc. on vegetation.
No fires on the beach unless they are fully contained within an approved vessel, such as a Solo Stove. Ashes and debris must be removed from the beach.
Franklin County Ordinance 14-01, AKA the “Leave No Trace” law, ensures the preservation of the region's beaches, wildlife, and natural environment. The ordinance prohibits leaving anything on the beach overnight, including chairs, tents, canopies, umbrellas, and beach toys. Unattended property left on the beach will be deemed discarded and may be removed and disposed of.
Sea turtle nesting season runs from May through September. Marine turtles are protected under the Federal Endangered Species Act and Florida’s Marine Turtle Protection Act (379.2431 Florida Statutes). Please use the following practices to protect our beautiful turtles:
Don’t approach, disturb, or take photos of nesting turtles.
Fill in holes that could trap turtles.
Leave only footprints.
Stay off dunes and vegetation.
Knock down sandcastles - they may prevent hatchlings from reaching the ocean.
