Hell 02:18 buy track about i've wanted to do a halloween themed, guitar-based ambient record for a long time now. there have been a couple times that i've started working on the idea but either got distracted with other musical things or just overwhelmed with the thought of actually finishing the project and being happy with it. on the surface it sounds silly to feel stressed out over recording some weird sounds and then stringing them together, but for me it wasn't an easy process. halloween is really special for me. i worked the seasonal shift at party city for years- into my late twenties- surrounded by clueless 16 year old first-jobbers, just to be inundated with the spirit of the holiday. i'd heard lots of "halloween sounds" recordings over the years. it was important to make this recording a conscious and focused effort. in other words, it's not just me hitting record and then farting around on my pedals. there was a lot of thought put into every sound created.

every single sound on the recording came from a guitar- albeit a very processed guitar, but 100% guitar. my dream would be for people to play this on their porch to scare the shit out of trick or treaters, or at haunted houses or parties. anything halloween related. not everyone is into noisy, ambient records, but ALMOST everyone is into halloween! $(".tralbum-about").last().bcTruncate(TruncateProfile.get("tralbum_about"), "more", "less"); credits released October 28, 2013 license all rights reserved tags Tags experimental dead family death effects halloween pedals scary sounds tera melos Los Angeles Shopping cart subtotal USD taxes calculated at checkout Check out about nick reinhart Los Angeles, California

I think its supposed to be scary but sometimes there are these random "scary" sounds (like breath and other unexplainable), that are really annoying. I dont testet but I think these go away when turning ambient off but I still want to hear the wind and so on. It also doesnt go away with music turned off. So I probably have to remove some game files, does somebody know more about it?

The sounds alone are high quality and very well made, i like the sounds... but in the game, in the night... i like to sit there and watch the nature being nature and so ... I like immersion and i like the 7d2d-world and setting... but this breaks everything for me... immersion, horrrfeeling and fun... and when i delete those specific files and save the ressource.asset, my game ... my character was suddenly lvl 1 and all character-progress was deleted, even the landmarks i saved in the map... placed items are all still there ... weird ^^ i don't complain about this, was my fault, but i wish i can somehow disable these specific soundfiles without lost ;D

There are mods change the sounds of vehicles and creatures that I use all the time. Download one of those mods, look at the xmls and see how they do it. Then just make your own after you track down the sound files based upon their pathing. BDub's vehicles, Snukfin's zombies, etc. all reference the sound files.

NOW it is creepy, yes... and as i wrote: for me at least ^^ there are some out there with the same opinion, not much, but some... those few individuals want to turn off the music... ALL music... and when i turn down the slider for ambientsounds, ALL ambient sounds like crickets, babies, wind.. all of them are gone... that is not what i wanted...

The noises don't bother me too much, but I feel like they cue up too frequently at night. There was an update not too far back when it would be about every fifteen or thirty seconds and man that did grate a bit. It doesn't seem to be that bad anymore. What got me was the small pool of sounds there were so the repetition is what made it really stick out.

There are interesting possibilities with the sounds themselves. I recall a game, I think Balder's Gate, when the soundtrack included the sound of a trap being sprung. Every 40 minutes, or so, hearing the trap noise could make you stop and look around.

Update: I also recall a Halloween change for Minecraft where they changed game sounds. One of the "there's an unlit cave near" sounds was changed to something like somebody yelling for help. At first that had folks searching around for the victim.

The sounds that affect us most are non-linear sounds. These unsettling sounds have rapidly changing frequencies, non-standard harmonies and are just frightfully noisy. The most common non-linear sounds in nature are animal cries or screams, something our early ancestors had reason to fear. If their brains did not react fast enough and generate the startle reflex, they would have been eaten for breakfast. We evolved to survive.

Hi, I would want to know if there are some music and sounds that can be used in a horror/mystery story. I mean music and sounds that create tension and suspense and/or that are scary.

Thank you in advance!

Thunder, fireworks, training at Quantico Marine Corps Base (or any military base where weapon and munitions training is done): the sounds produced are terrifying for many dogs. I live just a few miles as the crow flies from Quantico. There are many days it sounds like a thunderstorm here due to frequent training. It can last several days to a week. I can even feel my house shake many days of training. Fireworks are a common occurrence where I live. A local ball park often has them after games. Residents set them off for various occasions. Finally, we are no stranger to serious thunder storms in my area!

We desensitize by using small amounts of the scary stimulus while adding something else highly pleasurable for the dog like playing, etc. By using small amounts of the stressing thing while counter conditioning, we make it easier for the dog to handle the stimuli. Play the sounds very softly while giving the dog great treats, playing with him, etc. There are many great sound effects apps you can download, CDs and online sound effects you can use. Keep the volume soft in the beginning. You want the dog aware of the sound but the sound not so loud that he is already afraid before you begin work. As the dog becomes comfortable with each level, increase it just a little bit and continue work. Always work with the counter conditioning at the same time.

Thunder Shirts, herbal remedies and medications may be recommended and can help if used carefully. If improperly introduced as part of a program, Thunder Shirts can fail. Some owners toss them on at the beginning of an event and the dog associates the shirt with the scary thing. If you decide to try a Thunder Shirt, please make sure you do not accidentally teach the dog to associate it with the scary stuff. For other dogs, they work wonderfully! You will not know until you try it.

Keep your dog inside long before the sounds start. Food stuffed toys, a quiet room with a radio or TV playing, your presence reassuring your dog can all help out. You cannot reinforce fear so do not worry about trying to make your dog feel safe.

Work to prevent issues before they begin. Using sound effects CD, apps and websites, you can make the sounds of fireworks and storms part of your socializing protocol. It is amazing what you can find for sound effects on YouTube! Play the sounds softly while you play with and feed your puppy. Socializing is not just seeing new things but also hearing them!

Do not flood or let a trainer flood (saturate) your dog with the scary stuff. Flooding is exposing an animal to a constant barrage of the scary thing hoping the critter will realize he is being silly and snap out of his fears. This rarely works and can make things a LOT worse. If the dog stops responding it may be because he has shut down and is truly not accepting of it. Never mistake stillness for a dog being fine. Make sure the trainer you choose knows how to use counter conditioning and desensitizing. It is important to do many short sessions a day when it is light and dark outside.

I've created 4 tracks recently for Halloween videos my wife produced, and one of my favorites uses a total of 5 tracks, all from different presets in the Ethereal Earth plugin (which I love). The opening uses the Fog Glare preset, the melody uses the Copper Breeze preset, and the pulsating sounds underneath it all uses the Grammer preset. I also used the Exploring Darkness and Feel it Deeply presets. Here is "In the Darkness":

This is a short, unfinished thing I just did (I think it's all Camel Audio Alchemy) with sort of an alarm going off and what I imagine to be sounds of distress everywhere. The slow "footsteps" remind me of a recurring nightmare I had for a few years during my childhood. The piano at the end is not finished, and it's sorry.

Like those ominous bars of music signaling the approaching shark in Jaws, some of the most recognizable film scores were designed to terrify us.

But how do our brains recognize that music is supposed to be scary? The answer lies in our animal instincts, says UCLA evolutionary biologist Daniel Blumstein, whose research is published in the latest issue of the journal Biology Letters.

Blumstein believes that the work represents more than just an interesting exploration of how we process sensory information. "Maybe we'll be able to come up with better biologically inspired sounds," Blumstein said. "How do you make an abrasive alarm? How do you make things that are hard to ignore?" ff782bc1db
