In conclusion, the project met the requirements set in the scope statement. The robot is fully assembled and running a complete cycle based on the Arduino Program. Now, the robot is fixed on a set that includes an operation station to turn it on or off, and a work station where it can pick and place screws. Future improvements and different kinds of end of arm tooling can be added to the robot. This robot is a tool and the team, in this project, demonstrate one way to utilize it.
The team was able to apply what was learned in the Electromechanical Engineering Program. The team started from the conceptual design to using SolidWorks and Multisim to make the mechanical and electrical design. Then, the team made the assembly and wire connections. After that, the team programmed the robot using Arduino with the same Robot and PLC concepts learned in the Fanshawe. This project is the culmination of what a student can learn in this program at Fanshawe College.
