Scanzo (“the App”, “we”, “us”) is a QR code and barcode scanner and generator. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App and its third-party partners collect, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using Scanzo you agree to this policy.
Scanzo works offline. Your scans, generated codes, history, and favourites are stored only on your device and are never uploaded to us.
We do not require an account and never ask for your name, email, or other personal details.
The App displays ads via Google AdMob, which collects limited data to serve non-personalized ads.
The following stay on your device only. We operate no server and cannot access them:
Scan history, generated codes, favourites, batches, and settings.
Camera — used solely to scan QR codes and barcodes in real time. Images are processed on-device and are not stored or transmitted by us.
Photo Library — used only when you choose to import an image to scan, or to save a generated code to your photos.
Contacts / Calendar — accessed only when you choose to save a scanned contact (vCard) or add a scanned event. We do not read or upload your contacts or calendar.
The App uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. To serve ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect:
Device identifiers (e.g., advertising identifier)
Coarse (approximate) location
Ad interaction and usage data
Diagnostics (crash and performance data)
Scanzo is configured to request non-personalized ads. This data is collected by Google, not stored by us. Google’s use of data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
On-device data — to provide the App’s features (scanning, generating, history, favourites).
Third-party ad data — by Google to display and measure ads, prevent fraud, and for diagnostics.
We do not sell your personal information.
Camera, Photos, Contacts, and Calendar permissions are optional and requested only when needed for a feature. You can deny or revoke them in your device Settings; the related feature simply won’t be available.
Because your app data is stored locally, you control it entirely. You can clear your scan history in the App at any time, and uninstalling the App removes all local data. For ad-related data, use Google’s controls and your device’s ad settings.
Scanzo is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Ads are non-personalized.
Your app data stays on your device. We take reasonable measures to protect it, but no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure.
Depending on your region, you may have rights to access or delete personal data. Because we do not collect or store your personal data on any server, you can exercise these rights directly by managing data within the App or by contacting us.
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
