GCPSN was started by Genetic Counselors Melissa Randall, LCGC, Angelica Doumak, LCGC, and Emmeline Chang, LCGC. Initially, the GCPSN was a way for their genetic counseling volunteers to connect with fellow volunteers. They provided a space for everyone to have common questions and concerns addressed in a supportive way. Due to the popularity of GCPSN’s meetings, events transitioned to a hybrid model of virtual and in-person events allowing us to reach prospective students across the United States and internationally. We are based out of Southern California but welcome participation from prospective students around the globe. The GCPSN continues to host virtual events and encourages in-person gatherings as well when possible.

GCPSN is continuing to foster a supportive and educational environment for all genetic counseling prospective students through virtual and in-person events. We also are focused on outreach in communities throughout California and Arizona in partnership with the genetic counseling organizations locally. GCPSN is interested in expanding our reach to as many prospective students as possible and giving a platform to Genetic Counselors from all backgrounds to share their experiences and give advice to future Genetic Counselors.
