Cadets at SC-871 are given the chance to be able to preform color guards at different events throughout the year, from football games to events that take our cadets all the way to the state house.  

Cadets can learn the proper way to march with and carry the US, South Carolina, and Air Force flags, displaying them with the honor and pride that we hope to bestow upon every cadet.

The fun doesn't stop in the classroom at SC-871, as cadets are also able to participate in a large variety of award-winning after-school teams. Some of these include:

• Air Rifle

• CyberPatriot (Cybersecurity Team)

• Flight Sim

• STEM

• And more!

At SC-871, we pride ourselves in giving back to the community. That's why during the time a cadet spends in the corps, they will have many community-service opportunities to take part in, such as:

• Adopt-a-Highway (Highway Clean-Up)

• Tunnels-to-Tower

• JROTC Car Wash Fundraisers

• And more!

Even outside school, cadets still find ways to participate in ROTC. Our corps holds many events outside of school, from fundraisers in collaboration with local restaurants, to group hikes through the South Carolina woods, to overnight summer camps designed to give cadets the full leadership experience. SC-871 gives every cadet the opportunity to find a home for themselves among their peers, and a place that they can grow to become the best version of themselves.
