The Municipal Government of Sablayan has proudly been conferred the prestigious Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) for multiple years, including 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2023, and 2024.

This repeated achievement symbolizes the Local Government Unit's unwavering journey toward good local governance by consistently upholding the highest standards of transparency, integrity, and service delivery for the people of Sablayan. Local Legislative Award (2nd Runner-up)

The Municipal Government of Sablayan was recognized as the 2nd runner-up in the 4th-6th Class Municipalities Category of the 2025 Local Legislative Awards (LLA) by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) This award highlights the municipality's effective policy-making efforts and commitment to good governance and community development. The DILG congratulated the awardees for their dedication, innovation and commitment to uplifting governance standards across the region.

Partner Excellence Award

The Municipal Government of Sablayan has been honored with the Partner Excellence Award by the WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature) Philippines.

This prestigious recognition celebrates the LGU’s steadfast leadership and unwavering efforts toward marine conservation. Specifically, the award recognizes Sablayan's success in empowering fisherfolks and protecting marine resources through inclusive and sustainable governance practices.

The award was formally presented by Ms. Katherine Custodio, Executive Director of WWF Philippines, on April 30, 2025. This achievement reinforces the Municipality’s role as a leader in environmental stewardship and sustainable development in the region.

DENR Recognition for Contributions to Apo Reef Natural Park - ASEAN Heritage Park

The Municipal Government of Sablayan has been honored with a Plaque of Recognition from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) MIMAROPA Region.

This award gratefully acknowledges the LGU's valuable contribution as a member of the Protected Area Management Board (PAMB) from 2019 to the present. Sablayan's steadfast involvement was instrumental in the Apo Reef Natural Park achieving two prestigious designations:

The Blue Parks Award.
Designation as the 61st ASEAN Heritage Park.

This recognition underscores the Municipality’s dedicated efforts in conservation and sustainable governance of its crucial marine resources. The award was presented by DENR MIMAROPA Region on September 6, 2025, in Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro.

POPCOM MIMAROPA Recognition for Population and Development

The Municipal Government of Sablayan has been honored with a Plaque of Recognition from the Commission on Population and Development (POPCOM) MIMAROPA Region.

This award recognizes the Municipality's outstanding performance in Localizing the Population and Development (POPDEV) Agenda and its strong commitment to the implementation of the Regional Population and Development Plan of Action 2023–2025.

The recognition underscores Sablayan’s effective integration of population dynamics into local planning, which is vital for sustainable community welfare.

The plaque was presented by Mr. Reynaldo O. Wong, Regional Director, on August 14, 2025.

Most Responsive Local Government Unit on Census Operation

The Municipal Government of Sablayan received a Plaque of Recognition from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).

Sablayan was recognized as the Most Responsive Local Government Unit in census operations and for its consistent support of Statistical Operation, PhilSys (Philippine Identification System), and Civil Registration.

This award was presented by the PSA during the 36th National Statistics Month on October 29, 2025, in Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro.

2025 CBMS Gawad Galing Lokal (Third Placer)

The Municipal Government of Sablayan has been recognized with the CBMS Gawad Galing Lokal (Third Placer) award.

DENR MIMAROPA Award for Upcycling and Craft Production

The Municipal Government of Sablayan has been honored with a Plaque of Recognition from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) MIMAROPA Region.

This award specifically recognizes the Municipality's outstanding practices in upcycling and crafts production, underscoring its commitment to effective solid waste management and sustainability.

The recognition was conferred during the 2025 Environmental Summit on November 7, 2025, at the Park Inn by Radisson, North EDSA, Quezon City, Philippines. This achievement highlights Sablayan's dedication to turning waste into valuable resources.

DICT Recognition for Digital Transformation Leadership

The Municipal Government of Sablayan received a Plaque of Recognition from the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) for its outstanding dedication to adopting and implementing the Electronic Local Government Unit Business Permit and Licensing System (eLGU BPLS).

Sablayan's commitment was instrumental in achieving 100% eLGU implementation in Occidental Mindoro, which directly contributed to the DICT's global success as a WSIS Prizes 2025 Winner in the eBusiness Category (Geneva, Switzerland).

Digital Transformation Center Level 1

The Sablayan Municipal Library Tech4ED Center has been successfully recognized as a Digital Transformation Center 1 (DTC 1) by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Regional Office.

Awarded on November 22, 2024, this certification confirms the Center's commitment to digital transformation standards, significantly enhancing digital literacy and community empowerment in Sablayan.

Rank 3 Compliance in the Submission of LGU Reports

The Municipal Government of Sablayan was recognized by the Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF) MIMAROPA Region for its exceptional performance in financial administration.

Sablayan achieved the Third Highest Rank in the submission of Quarterly Reports on Real Property Assessment among the entire MIMAROPA Region for Fiscal Year 2023.

This recognition, conferred by the BLGF MIMAROPA Region on November 28, 2024, in Baguio City, Philippines, underscores the LGU's commitment to timely and accurate financial reporting.

Most Number of Wedded Couples in Mass Wedding 2025

The Philippine Statistic Authority - Regional Statistical Services Office MIMAROPA awarded the Office of the Municipal Civil Registrar of Sablayan for having the Most Number of Wedded Couples in a Mass Wedding in the Province of Occidental Mindoro. This recognition was given on the 4th day of September 2025 during the 9th MIMAROPA Civil Registrar's Interface held on September 2-4, 2025 at BSA Twin Towers, Mandaluyong City, Metro Manila- duly signed by Ms. Leni R. Rioflorido, the PSA RSSO-MIMAROPA Regional Director.

Top 3 LGU Literacy Program Implementor

The Municipal Government of Sablayan has been recognized as one of the region's leaders in education, securing the Top 3 Rank in LGU Literacy Program Implementor.

This significant award was granted under the category Outstanding Local Government Unit - 1st to 3rd Class Municipality, as part of the Regional Literacy Search for Gawad Matatag of the Literacy Coordinating Council (LCC).

The initial awarding ceremonies were held at the DepEd MIMAROPA Regional Office on July 26, 2024. The certificate was formally conferred by the Department of Education MIMAROPA Region on November 28, 2024, at the Great Eastern Hotel in Quezon City, Philippines.

ATOP Pearl Award: Best Sustainable Tourism Practices

The Municipal Government of Sablayan, in partnership with the Apo Reef Natural Park Office, received the prestigious Best Sustainable Tourism Practices Award (Municipal Level) at the 2025 ATOP Pearl Awards.

This honor, presented by the Association of Tourism Officers in the Philippines (ATOP), recognizes Sablayan’s outstanding leadership in promoting sustainable, responsible, and community-driven tourism. The LGU was cited for successfully balancing tourism development with the protection and conservation of the globally significant Apo Reef Natural Park, and for empowering local communities, especially fisherfolk, to actively participate in resource management.

The award was presented on October 2, 2025, in Baguio City during the ATOP National Convention.

Seal of Child-Friendly Local Government (CFLGA) Awardee

The Municipal Government of Sablayan was recognized as an awardee of the 2024 Seal of Child-Friendly Local Government Audit (CFLGA).

This achievement honors the LGU's dedication and commitment, resulting in exemplary performance in fostering effective local governance and contributing significantly to the betterment and welfare of local children and the community.

A Certificate of Commendation was presented on February 17, 2025, during the DILG Occidental Mindoro Awards Ceremony.

Gawad Kalasag Seal of Excellence: Beyond Compliant

The Municipal Government of Sablayan has been awarded the prestigious Gawad Kalasag Seal of Excellence (Beyond Compliant) for the 24th Gawad Kalasag Seal for Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils and Offices (LDRRMCOs) for CY 2024.

With an exemplary rating of 2.87, the Municipality was found to have exceeded the national standards for the establishment and functionality of LDRRMCOs, as mandated by the Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction Management Act of 2010 (RA No. 10121).

The award was formally conferred on December 13, 2024, at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City.

Recognized as Local Learning Hub on Volunteerism

The Municipal Government of Sablayan was awarded a Plaque of Recognition as a Local Learning Hub on Volunteerism.

This honor acknowledges the LGU's exemplary commitment and dedication to fostering a robust culture of volunteerism in its programs, projects, and activities, all aimed at achieving inclusive and sustainable development.

The award was conferred on December 12, 2024, at The Metropolitan Theater in Ermita, Manila, Philippines.

Sablayan RHU Wins Best in HIV Awareness

The Sablayan Rural Health Unit (RHU) was awarded Best in HIV Awareness for demonstrating exceptional commitment and excellence in raising awareness about Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV).

This award recognizes the RHU's significant impact in promoting education, prevention, and support within the community.

The award was given on December 5, 2024, at the Capitol Training Center in Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro, Philippines.

Social Hygiene Clinic Receives Social Contributor Award

The Sablayan Social Hygiene Clinic has been honored with The Social Contributor Award for its exceptional dedication and outstanding contributions to the betterment of society.

This award recognizes the Municipal Government's passion, leadership, and continuous efforts to inspire, uplift, and support others, establishing the organization as a true role model in the community.

The award was presented on December 5, 2025, at the Capitol Training Center in Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro, Philippines.

The Municipal Government of Sablayan recognized its top-performing offices during the Year-End Celebration in December 2025.

The Office of the Municipal Civil Registrar was awarded a Plaque of Recognition, ranking Number 1 among the Best Organizations under the Frontline Services Category.
