Being in a medical or dental marriage brings with it a unique set of circumstances, which can be challenging to those outside of medicine to understand. Particularly for those still in training, connection and fellowship with other medical wives makes the journey much more sustainable (even if it involves many shared tears intern year!) Learning from those who have gone before us, and encouraging those still on the journey, we all have something to contribute and receive!  

Side By Side has chapters in over 90 communities across the world where women can connect, love and pray for each other, while encouraging one another in their personal relationships with Jesus Christ. We are a ministry in partnership with the Christian Medical and Dental Association (CMDA). 

History

Side By Side began in 1988 in Rochester, Minnesota with six women meeting around a kitchen table. Over the upcoming years, the group grew to 150 women attending weekly, and they felt the Lord leading them to share their model with others. 

The women of Side By Side come from different backgrounds, denominations, and are in varied stages of the medical life. Some members are physicians or dentists themselves. Each chapter ministers to the needs of its community.
