Culture & Leadership
Culture & Leadership
House et al. (2002) conducted what was called the GLOBE Study to create a practical theory on how culture impacts leadership processes.
The purpose of this research was to comprehend how national cultures preferred different leadership styles, as well as identify shared values and behavioral traits in different parts of the world.
In their study, they identified nine dimensions of culture and leadership:
Power Distance
Uncertainty Avoidance
Humane Orientation
Collectivism I
Collectivism II
Assertiveness
Gender Egalitarianism
Future Orientation
Performance Orientation
Check out my performance aid on specifics of these cultural dimensions pertaining to leadership styles in different cultures!
