DAILY DEVOTIONALS

One purpose of SBMT is to grow in faith and grow closer to God. Set some time aside each day to spend in God's word, then respond to God in prayer. Afterward, you can talk about what you learned with others!

Each day we will read a different passage about God calling someone to follow him. Use GULSA and ACTS to guide your devotional each day.

1.  Spend time reading Scripture.

First pray and ask God to teach you, then read it slowly and carefully.

God – What does the passage say about GOD?

Us – What does the passage say about US as people?

Like – What do you LIKE about the passage?

Summarize – How would you SUMMARIZE it?

Apply – How will you APPLY this passage this week?

2. Spend time in prayer.

Use “ACTS” to guide your prayer time.

Adoration - Praise God and adore Him for who he is. Use Scripture to praise Him. Be still before Him and enjoy His presence.

Confession - Ask Christ to search your heart for areas that displease Him. Allow God to cleanse your heart of guilt for sin. Repent –turn away– from any sin and accept His forgiveness and cleansing.

Thanksgiving - Thank God for specific things: blessings, people, open doors, guidance, etc.  Give thanks for salvation and the privilege of serving a wonderful Savior. Thank Him for his goodness, loving-kindness, and faithfulness.

Supplication – Intercede boldly for your needs and the needs of others.  Pray by name for those who don’t know Christ.  Pray for your church, BSM and your personal ministry opportunities.  Be specific.
