Science Olympiad brings together students to compete in all disciplines of science, including chemistry, biology, earth science, physics, and engineering. There are 23 events, and each team (of approximately 15 students) is required to have 2-3 students compete in each of these events. The events can be categorized into testing events, lab events, or building events. Each event requires expertise in a given area of science, and each team will compete against the other teams in the same events. The overall team placement is determined by a combination of all the individual event scores.

South Brunswick Science Olympiad has been competing since 2008. Since then, we have competed in numerous competitions, placed in many events, and made everlasting memories. With the countless hours we have spend together, our team is like a family, always supporting, helping, and cheering on one another. We have two teams, Team Black and Team Gold, who have performed exceptionally in the past years. We hope to continue to improve as a team, and one day, make it to nationals!
Thanks to our amazing advisers Dr. Amrish Garg (now retired, 2008-2016) and Mr. John Noble (2016-present)
Pictured here is the team that competed at States this year. We placed 5th in the state, and won medals in 12 of our events.
