Fall Fundraiser: Walk-a-thon
This is considered our main fundraiser for the year and we hope to raise 50% of our fundraising dollars each year at this event. We don't want to continuously ask parents for fundraising efforts nor ask students to sell unwanted products to families and friends.
How it works
We send home a pledge sheet with each student and ask them to gather pledges benefiting their education. The PTO organizes the event and 100% of pledges are kept and used towards the education and educational experience of Sayre students!
Family members are invited to the event (including preschoolers and babies) and students walk with their class while listening to music. Students have a snack while prizes are given away at the end of the event.
Thank you to everyone for supporting this important fundraiser. The PTO truly appreciates the generosity of the Sayre community.
Straight Monetary Contributions
Sayre PTO is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Contributions to the PTO are tax deductible and always appreciated. Unlike fundraisers that allow you to purchase merchandise, all of the proceeds from a straight monetary contribution go directly to the PTO. Individuals and businesses may make a straight contribution to Sayre PTO at any time. Contact the PTO at syvolu@slcs.us for more information.
Year-Round Cash-Back Fundraisers
Amazon Smile
Amazon Smile is a program to earn money for Sayre while shopping on Amazon. Go to https://smile.amazon.com/ and login to your Amazon account. You can then choose Sayre Elementary Family Council PTO as your charitable organization. A portion of all purchases will be donated back to Sayre PTO.
Busch's Cash for Education
Link your Busch's MyWay Rewards card to Sayre Elementary and a student name, and they will donate 3% of all purchases made with a credit card or 5% if you pay with cash, check or debit card. The PTO receives a check from Busch's on a quarterly basis. Amounts earned by 4th and 5th graders directly reduce the student's amount owed for 5th Grade Camp. Anyone can sign up to earn - parents, grandparents, friends, neighbors. Be sure to link your card annually. http://www.buschs.com/community
Kroger Community Rewards
Sign up for Kroger Community Rewards linking your Kroger Plus account to Sayre Elementary PTO and Kroger will donate a percentage of purchases back to PTO. https://www.kroger.com/account/enrollCommunityRewardsNow
Scrip Cards
Scrip is a program where you buy gift cards through Sayre PTO at face value from a long list of companies (Amazon, Barnes and Noble, ITUNES, Speedway, Target, Wal-mart, etc.) and a percentage of your purchase is then donated to the PTO or reduces amounts owed for 5th grade camp.
To order gift cards go to www.shopwithscrip.com and register under Sayre (enrollment code:5DB184LL3195), then print a copy of your order and send it with a check made payable to Sayre PTO to school with your student or drop it off in the office. Gift cards will be send home with students once a month. E-gift cards are also available for direct purchase via credit card payment online.
Hungry Howie's Pizza Night
Once a month the South Lyon Hungry Howie's donates 10% of profits to Sayre PTO. Look for our facebook and calendar posts for the dates.
Continuous No-Cost Fundraising Programs
The following programs require no cost to participate and either donate funds to the PTO or allow us to redeem points for supplies and equipment.
Boxtops for Education
Look for the Boxtop label on numerous household items including many grocery brands, Kleenex, Ziploc bags, diapers, and much much more. A comprehensive list of brands can be found at http://www.boxtops4education.com/. Sayre is paid $0.10 for each label and last year we earned over $2,000 from Boxtops. Free money! Simply remove the label from the packaging and send to school with your student.
Shoe Box Recycling
We collect pairs of shoes to be recycled and sent to those in need around the world. Collection boxes are set up in the front office.
