Frequently Asked Questions
How do I add my own sounds?
Open the Record tab to capture audio with the mic (you can trim the ends), or go to Uploads and tap + to import an audio file from your device. Your sounds then appear on your board like any other.
How do I share a sound?
Long-press any sound and choose Share Sound. It sends a Say Less file that opens right inside the app for whoever receives it.
I hid a sound — how do I get it back?
Go to Settings → Hidden Sounds and tap Show next to any sound, or Unhide All.
Can I reorder my sounds?
Yes. Press and hold a tile and drag it to reposition it within its category. Favorites can be reordered the same way.
A sound won’t play or is too quiet
Check your device volume and make sure it isn’t in silent mode for media. You can also adjust overall volume in Settings, and per-sound volume from a sound’s long-press menu.
Is my data private?
Yes — Say Less collects no data and sends nothing off your device. See our Privacy Policy at https://sites.google.com/view/saylessboard.
