Biography 


Sayanta Chowdhury is a PhD scholar at MLSI Group, Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, South Asian University (SAU). His PhD study consists of the intersection of Machine Learning and Optimization.  He is pursuing PhD under the supervision of Dr Reshma Rastogi. He is receiving the SAARC Silver Jubilee Scholarship for continuing his PhD Studies at SAU. 

Recently, he completed his M.Sc. in Computer Science from South Asian University. He also completed his MSc thesis under Dr Rastogi's supervision. 

Previously, he completed his B.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering (4 years bachelor) from the Bangladesh Army International University of Science and Technology, Cumilla Cantonment, Bangladesh.

He also received the SAARC Silver Jubilee Scholarship for his two-year MSc course, funded by the Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India. This scholarship was given based on ranking on the entrance exam for the MSc, and he achieved 1st position rank on that exam among the Bangladeshi aspirants. This scholarship covered his educational expenses, hostel residential and travel expenses, and health insurance for two years.
