Management and Directing

Elizabeth Tippens (She/Her)

Stage Manager

Elizabeth Tippens known as "Tippens" to her lovely tech crew is 17, a Senior, and has been doing theatre at Langley for the last 4 years. She has previously directed, stage-managed, and acted in many other Saxon stage shows such as The Party Hop and Mamma Mia. She is also the president of the Langley chapter of the International Thespian Society (go troop 3265) and a Cappies critic on the Langley team. She would like to thank Izzy, Scarlett, Lillian, and Jacqueline for being such amazing ASM's and she would like to thank Mr. Kaufman for helping her learn so much. She would also like to thank Lily for being cool and Tiffany, Cristina, Keiko, and her parents for driving her home! (she promises to get her license soon) Everyone has worked so hard to bring this show together and she hopes everybody enjoys the show!

Abaineh Hale (He/Him)

Director's Assistant

Abaineh Haile is a junior at Langley High School and has been part of ITS (International Thespian Society) since 8th grade. Since then Abaineh has been in many school productions such as "Romeo & Juliet", "Wagon Wheels-A-Rollin", and "The Little Mermaid". However, "Murder on the Orient Express", the show presented before you, will be his first behind the scenes role in a school play.

Lillian Weimer (She/Her)

Assistant Stage Manger

Lillian Weimer is a freshman and new to Saxon Stage. She is thrilled to have been given this opportunity to work on her first show! She would like to thank the cast and crew for their rigorous work throughout the rehearsal and performance process, Tippens for her outstanding work as stage manager, and Izzy, Jaqueline, Scarlett for being wonderful and hardworking fellow assistant stage managers. She would also like to thank her friends and family for keeping up with her busy schedule. She sincerely hopes that everyone enjoys the show!

Isabella Steenburgh (She/Her)

Assistant Stage Manger

Isabella "Izzy" Steenburgh is a freshman here at Langley High School. She has been a part of the arts community for many years, but this is her first time doing theatre tech. Born and raised in Alaska, with a quick stop in Florida before coming to Virginia, Isabella loves to read, dance, and play the harp. She’s extremely grateful for the opportunity to work with such talented individuals. Isabella would like to thank Elizabeth for being an amazing stage manager/role model, Jacqueline, Lillian, and Scarlett for being fantastic fellow ASMs, and Mr. Kaufman for being such a supportive and encouraging director. She would also like to thank the cast for being so kind and welcoming. She hopes everyone enjoys the show!

Jacqueline Gauthier (She/Her)

Assistant Stage Manger

This is Jacqueline Gauthier’s first show at Langley! She is a sophomore and assistant stage manager for Murder on the Orient Express. She has been in backstage tech for two years in school plays, being a part of Run crew and the head production team. In addition to theatre, she plays soccer for Langley and spends her free time drawing and talking with friends.

Scarlett Spano (She/Her)

Assistant Stage Manger

Scarlett Spano is a sophomore at Langley who has been in several virtual productions with Saxon stage. Thankfully back in person, she gets to continue working on awesome shows with Monsieur Kaufman. She had a lot of fun bonding with the cast while jamming to music and bonding with the crew while making many a platform. Scarlett is excited for everyone to see this show and many in the future!

Teddy Spaner (He/Him)

Set & Projection Designer

Theodore Spaner is a senior at Langley High School who has been a part of Saxon Stage for the last 4 years. He has completed a wide range of designs, including, but not limited to, set, lights, sound, and projections. Outside of theatre, Teddy enjoys playing violin, learning new subjects, and working as a barista at Starbucks. He has had an excellent time with Saxon Stage and looks forward to the new future!

Stella Wang (She/Her)

Set Design Intern

Stella is a sophomore and is thrilled to be participating in her first show at Langley. She has previously worked on set construction and designed light and sound through various theater courses. She would like to thank the director Mr. Kauffman, Elizabeth the Stage Manager, and everyone she worked with backstage. She is also grateful to her family and friends for supporting her during her first show. She hopes everyone enjoys the show, especially the parts she painted!

Soo Park (She/They)

Set Design Intern

Soo Park is a freshman and she decided to join tech stage design because she loves art and has always been interested in tech theater. She is very excited for the fall play as well as participating in the making process. She would like to thank everyone in the tech and can’t ready to see the final design result!

Tracy Gong (She/Her)

Set Design Intern

Tracy Gong is a sophomore at Langley High School. Her hobbies are writing, drawing, and reading. She just started doing Saxon Stage Tech and would like to thank her crew members for all their patience as she navigates the new environment. She hopes that the show runs smoothly and the audience can see the hard work that the Tech team and the actors have made to create an authentic and enjoyable experience of the show.

Phia Colabatistto (She/Her)

Assistant Sound Designer

Phia is a Junior at Langley. Phia’s first show was Guys and Dolls and although the production didn’t end up going on, she still makes efforts in theatre and tech. Last year she was the video editor for The Party Hop and helped with various other virtual productions through the year. When she's not making cool sounds for saxon stage, she can be found building computers, working at Starbucks, and streaming on Twitch.

Mary Muir (She/Her)

Lighting Designer

Mary Muir is a senior at Langley High School and has been a part of Saxon Stage since her freshman year. Specializing in lighting, she also has experience with set construction, sound, run crew, and sleep deprivation during tech week. Murder on the Orient Express has been an exciting opportunity so far and she’d like to thank her cast and crew, friends, family, and all those who came to see the show today. Enjoy!

Run Crew Head

Jane Sullivan is a senior at Langley with two years worth of productions in her back pocket. She has loved every part of participating in tech, and is looking forward to doing future shows. She would like to congratulate the entire cast and crew for their time and effort put into making it such a professional show. She’d also like to Thank her family for their support during the busy schedules going on. Enjoy the show!

Ella Smith (She/Her)

Costume Designer

Ella Smith is a senior and has been doing tech at Langley High School for 3 years. She first joined back in the fall of 2018 for her first show, Biloxi Blues. She is thrilled to be working on one last play before the end of senior year. She would like to thank the cast and crew for being so wonderful during the rehearsal process and for putting up with her constant measuring. She hopes that everyone enjoys Langley High Schools' first in-person play of the year!

Claire Stephenson (She/They)

Co-Head Costume Designer

Claire Stephenson is 18, a Senior, and has been a part of theater her whole life. They moved from Chicago, IL June 2020 and has enjoyed every minute of their first year with Saxon Stage. Claire has been a part of many shows, and is so excited to get back to costuming this fall! Outside of theater she loves watching any and all movies... and that's really it. Let her know if you want any movie suggestions! They can't wait to see all of the amazing performers tonight and all of the costumes the costume crew worked so hard on! Enjoy the show!

Elisa Eiras (They/Them)

Co Hair and Makeup Designer

Elisa Eiras has been doing tech since their freshman year and is now a senior! They have done a little bit of everything, such as stage management, props and is now is a makeup co-head with the amazing Mia Mendonca. Elisa is so excited to be back in person and to continue theatre. They would like to firstly thank Mia, the makeup and costumes crews and Elizabeth Tippens! They would also like to thank the Great Falls Creamery for letting them take off 2 weeks of work. Enjoy the show!

Mia Cunha Mendonca (She/Her)

Co Hair and Makeup Designer

Mia Mendonca is a senior at Langley High School. She began participating in theatre tech in 2017 as a set constructor and makeup tech at Cooper Middle School. Since then, Mia has been a part of 6 school productions. She has had experience in both construction and makeup, and was even a Co-Head for construction at Langley prior to becoming the Head of Hair and Makeup her sophmore year. She is currently the Co-Head of Hair and Makeup with the amazing Elisa Eiras and is so excited to lead her final crew through this year's productions with Elisa. This will be the third crew Mia has trained and she can’t wait to work with them!

Eva Cardenas is a Junior who has been a part of Saxon Stage for 3 years. She is ecstatic to be working as props master for the show. She is super thankful for all the helpful advice from her peers on the production crew. She hopes everyone loves the show and maybe even comes multiple nights!

Lily Spiller (She/Her)

Marketing Manager

Lily Spiller is a senior and has been part of Langley’s theatre productions both for tech and acting since freshman year. She has done several posters for various shows at Langley, such as A Miscast Cabaret, The Party Hop, A Night at the Theatre, Never Swim Alone, and now Murder on the Orient Express! She’s thrilled to be a part of the production and would like to thank her team for all their hard work, as well as Elizabeth Tippens for answering my questions at ungodly hours in the morning. <3

Keiko Tani (She/Her)

Social Media Manager

Keiko Tani, in addition to acting, loves social media! Like many other teenagers, she spends way too much time scrolling through Instagram and Tiktok, but she has found a place to direct that energy as the Social Media Manager of Saxon Stage and the International Thespian Society! Keiko has enjoyed getting creative with her posts and using the power of social media to market Langley’s shows!

Soraya Schroeder (She/They)

Head of House

Soraya “Siy” Schroeder is a junior and this is their first year at Langley and their 3rd year doing tech. She is very excited to be a part of Langley productions. She would like to congratulate the cast on their performance and commend the crew for their stellar contribution. Josephin Friedrich (She/Her)

Josephin Friedrich is a Freshman at Langley, and this is her first year doing tech theatre. She is very excited to have been able to work with everyone to put this show together. Josephin would like to thank her parents for putting up with traffic jams and her tedious schedule to make sure she gets back home. She would also like to thank the rest of the house crew for being great people to work with and Elizabeth for being an amazing Stage Manager. She hopes you‘ll enjoy the show!

Talia-Rose Diorio (She/Her)

Scenic Painting Head

Talia-Rose Diorio is a junior here at Langley and she has been apart of Saxon Stage, whether on or behind stage, since her freshman year. Talia is on Langley’s improv team "Assembly Required" and starred as Nancy in Langley's the Party Hop. This production Talia was knighted Head of Painting, and has been having a ball since! In her spare time, she likes to run cross country, paint, and write her own work. She would like to thank the whole cast and crew for all their hard work. She hopes you enjoy the show!!
