How is it caused? Littering, non-proper waste management and landfills mainly cause plastic pollution. When people litter, it is carried away by wind and bad weather conditions and ends up in oceans and beaches. Non-proper waste management can lead to dirty water and chemicals in the ocean. When plastic is littered, animals may mistake it as food and eat it, leading to its death. That is mainly how plastic pollution is caused.

Marine life is dying and we need to help save them before they are led to extinction. These helpless animals can't even express their feelings about us littering with plastic.

Plastic is poisonous to marine life and it is up to us to save it. Luckily it's not too late to help! Organizations have had a head start and are already helping by having marine biologists do research on the ocean and on how plastic is harming it. Now they are doing everything they can to save the ocean and now it is our turn. Even the smallest steps can make a huge difference!

Collecting one piece of plastic a day can help! Encourage people to collect a piece of plastic a day and recycle it afterward! If everyone on this planet collected one piece of plastic a day, that's 8 billion pieces of plastic gone! The world's 2024 population is around 8,118,835,999.
