Is Voter ID racist?
Why do we need Voter ID?
To confirm that you are who you say you are.
To prevent someone from voting for you. In Shasta County many people have gone to the precinct only to be told that they have already voted. This would prevent this.
What is the current California Law?
Currently poll workers are not allowed to ask to see your ID
Will I need to get a new ID
No, you may use any government issued photo ID, including a drivers license, military ID, or passport.
How is this different to the Statewide Voter ID initiative?
It is similar to the Statewide initiative only it is more comprehensive. Measure B provides local control of elections that is independent of the State and the current Registrar of Voter.
Is voter ID racist?
No. Government issued ID's are necessary for many different aspects of life. This applies to all people equally with no distinction for race.
