The City of Napa's Executive Team has recommended to the City Council to disolve and dismantle the department of Parks and Recreation, including laying off 16 employees - about HALF of their staff.
Please contact City Council and let them know we need these folks NOW more than ever! Parks and Recreation is here for OUR community - providing services that we all get to enjoy, EVERY SINGLE DAY. These are the folks who wake up before sunrise to open the gates to parks, clean up needles and excrement, are there at 4 AM when a tree falls... and so much more!
They are always there for us (even when we don't know it) -- Let's be there for them!
Parks & Rec not only empties our public trash and recycling cans, but they clean up after our unsheltered population and those who litter/dump on public property.
During wind storms, freak accidents, and overgrowth - Parks and Rec crews come to the rescue to cut branches and trees.
No matter what time of day or night, Parks and Rec crew show up to ensure the safety of our community - during floods, fires, and normal days.
