Have you and/or your family enjoyed recreation activities provided by Parks and Recreation? Enjoy the Wiggle Room? Recreation leagues? Bocce ball tournaments? Pickle ball? Fourth of July activities and so much more?
Please submit any stories and photos you feel comfortable being shared on social media (the #SaveNapaParksandRec page) and possibly with Council Members to hear about how important these services are for you and your family by clicking the form below!
Consider writing an email to (a) Council Member(s)
Write a personal email that details your experiences at a Parks and Recreation event, activity, your kids attending a summer activity, what the parks mean to your family, how much you appreciate the services provided by the Parks and Rec staff.
Below is an example of a statement you could modify and make your own:
Dear Council Member ___________,
My name is ___________. I am a resident of the City of __________. I am writing to express how unhappy I am to hear the City Council is considering approving the City of Napa’s Executive Team proposed budget, which includes a proposal to dissolve, dismantle, and layoff almost HALF of the Parks and Recreation Department. The Council needs to be thinking about the needs of the tax paying citizens. If the Council adopts the proposed budget it will have a detrimental impact to the community and our families who enjoy the parks and these affordable City programs.
I am just one of the many community members who believe that the proposed cuts are too drastic and will cause unnecessary harm and disruption to OUR community, the residents, and your employees who work hard to provide us clean and safe parks, common areas, and amazing family-friendly events.
How are you putting the citizens of Napa first with this decision? As a tax paying citizen I think it is reasonable to expect that any final adopted budget sets the services to your citizens and your staff as high priorities .
Please #SaveNapaParksandRecreation and please Save Napa Jobs.
Sincerely,
_____________
