We are a group of environmentally concerned citizens who wish to save as many of the downtown trees as possible. The current city plan is to widen the sidewalks and remove as many as 75 trees. Most of these trees are healthy and sound and providing heat mitigation as the climate warms. We don't want a downtown that is hot, flat, and ugly -- we want the cooling and aesthetic benefits these trees provide. We want the city to revise its plan to keep the trees.
