This project originated as the final project for a student, Alysha Kuhn, in an upper-level history course at Binghamton University called Introduction to Public History, taught by Professor Wendy Wall. Kuhn collaborated with the Waterman Center as well as several former members of the Friends of the Glen group through the Sierra Club Susquehanna Group.
The collaborators shared their stories and their individual memories of the movement in order to help Kuhn put the pieces of the story together. The project relies heavily on oral history and documents saved by Julian Shepherd, a professor of Biology at Binghamton University who played an important role in the preservation of the glen, and the other collaborators.
