 Penrhos remains under threat from development

Penrhos Nature Reserve/Coastal Park, Holyhead,Isle of Anglesey LL65 2JE.

Penrhos has faced uncertainty for many years. Outline planning permission for a Leisure Village, 500 lodges, shops, bars, restaurants and a Tropical swimming pool was granted in 2016 to a developer Land & Lakes, who later sold Penrhos to the 79th Group. When that company went into administration, the administration team CG&Co. They have tasked the commercial property firm Lambert Smith Hampton (LHS) with managing the the sale.

The Reserved Matters have now been submitted to Anglesey County Council to progress the development. Penrhos Community Nature Reserve CIC are fighting these latest proposals because the changes from the original 2016 permission are substantial and alarming.

Loss of public access: The guaranteed free public access enjoyed by generations has been completely removed.

Larger facilities:  The central hub building is now far bigger than originally agreed.

Higher Density:  The layout and density of the lodges has increased.

Massive increase in parking: Spaces have risen from 600 to 1,015 cars, bringing far more traffic and pressure to this sensitive coastal and woodland site.

We believe these plans no longer reflect what was aproved, and they put the future of Penrhos, it's Wildlife  and it's role as a public open space at serious risk.

We continue to campaign, challenge these proposals, and work towards our goal: COMMUNITY OWNERSHIP THROUGH A BUYOUT, so Penrhos can be protected, kept open, and managed for everyone, FOREVER
