N.K. Saliya is a 32 year old, father of 2 beautiful children (a 2 and a half year old son and newborn daughter). In addition to his family, he also takes care of his mother who has been diagnosed with Hypertension and Diabetes. He is the breadwinner and only source of income for the family.

At 3:00am on the 9th of March, N.K Saliya was driving a three wheeler to drop off some goods to a nearby town. Unfortunately, on route, he collided with a lamp post. The collision caused the handle of the three wheeler to crush the left lower abdomen which resulted in a tear of the distal part of the bowel. In order to treat his injuries, the doctors at Balapitiya Base Hospital did a bowel resection, leaving N.K. Saliya with a colostomy bag.

Now that his injuries have been addressed, N.K. Saliya is in need of a Colostomy Reversal Procedure which requires circular staplers and a contour gun, both of which are unavailable at the local hospital. He wants and needs to work in order to provide for his family, but the colostomy bag makes it very difficult for him to work. No one else in the family can help financially, which creates a great strain on his family's lifestyle.

He is currently considered crippled which makes it hard for him to find jobs. However, the colostomy reversal procedure will completely change his lifestyle.
