'teabag' won a mini Oscar in my Univeristy Film Society for 'Best Makeup and Costume'
During my first year at University Lula Jahangiri and I were part of the Film Society. During our time in Film Society, there was a film competition, we had to get into groups and make a film that included a teabag, and for myself and Lula, we got given the rom-com as the genre. At first, we struggled to come up with ideas and just before we were about to give up I came up with the idea of someone being stood up on a date. 'Teabag' acts as a spoof of 'Fleabag' as both characters spike the camera with funny commentary and don't have an actual name. This film was written by us both but directed and edited by Lula Jahangiri. This was the first time I worked creatively on a film project with someone else and it was such an enjoyable experience. We were able to bounce ideas off each other easily as we both are heavily inspired by Wes Anderson and quirky indie films of the early 2000s.
