SATREPS stands for Science And Technology REsearch Partnership for Sustainable development.
SATREPS is a JST (Japan Science and Technology Agency) and JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) program for research project targeting global issues and involving partnerships between researchers in Japan and developing countries.

SATREPS-MARTEST project
"The Project for Establishment of a Research and Education Complex for Developing Disaster-resilient Societies – Martest" is technology and science transformation project from Japan to Turkiye. The project is supported by Japanese and Turkish governmental agencies of Japan International Cooperation Agency, Japan Science and Technology Agency and Turkiye Presidency of Strategy and Budget.Â
MARTEST project lead by Kagawa University (Japan) and Gebze Technical University (Turkiye) started on June 2023 and is expected to complete on June 2028.Â

SATREPS-MARTEST Symposium 2025
The first symposium of the SATREPS-MARTEST project was held in GTU Congress Center on September 12th, 2025.Â
3rd JCC meeting & MARTEST center opening ceremony 11th September
JICA, JST, GTU and many partners joined in the 3rd JCC at Gebze Technical University. Each WG progress were shared and future activities were discussed.
MARTEST center facility construction was completed.Â
WG1 Having a contract with TDG for the shaking table procurement
The JICA Turkiye Office has signed a contract with TDG Corporation for the installation of a state-of-the-art shaking table at the MARTEST Center, GTU.
In the coming months, TDG, JICA, and GTU will hold regular consultations to ensure smooth progress toward the implementation of this project. The shaking table is scheduled to be delivered and installed at the MARTEST Center in one year.
This initiative is expected to significantly enhance the Center’s capacity for research and practical applications in earthquake engineering and disaster-resilient structures.
