Got selected for the prestigious Charles Wallace India Trust (CWIT) grant award for the academic year 2018-19 under the Short-Term Visiting Fellowship to collect archival sources from the United Kingdom.

Organised exhibition on “The story worth telling: Unforgettable journey of Indian indentured labourers to South Africa (1860-1911)- A visual narrative” in collaboration with the Consulate General of India, Durban, South Africa; the Gandhi Luthuli Documentation Centre, University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa; and the Local Self-Government Department (LSGD), Government of Kerala, at Maharaja’s College, Eranakulam, from September 11 to 14, 2025. 

Got selected for the "Tamil Nadu Council of Historical Research grant 2025-26" by the Tamil Nadu Council of Historical Research, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, commencing from 09 January 2026.

Recipient of the Girmitiyalogy award from the Global Girmitiya Lineage Archive & Searching Centre (GGLASC), Bihar, India, for contributions made in promoting global girmitiyalogy awareness, issued on 12 January 2026. https://gglasc.com/awardees/

An article about my achievements in the famous Tamil magazine Thozhi, titled “Laṇṭaṉil nāṟpatu nāṭkaḷ” (Forty days in London), was published on 15th November 2018.

Received the Gold Medal for securing First Rank in B.A. History at Bharathidasan Govt. College for Women, Puducherry, in 2011.

Received the Gold Medal for securing first rank in M.Phil. History at Kanchi Mamunivar Centre for Postgraduate Studies, Puducherry, in 2014. 

Awarded UGC NF-OBC (National Fellowship for Other Backward Classes Students) -JRF and SRF from the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, in the academic year 2014-2015.

Received the “Smt. Kamal Sharma Award for Academic Excellence” from the Lexicon Group of Institutions, Pune, Maharashtra, on 5th September 2023.

Received the “Best Researcher Award” from the Novel Research Academy, Puducherry, on 15th August 2022.

Received Dr. Saroja Soundarajan Endowment Medal for the “Best Outgoing Student of the College” from Bharathidasan Government College for Women, Puducherry, for the academic year 2009-2010.

Qualified for the lectureship UGC-SET conducted by Mother Teresa Women’s University, TN, in 2016.

Secured second place in the All-India Ph.D. Entrance Exam conducted by Pondicherry Central University, May 2014.
