All SASSVI classes attend weekly music lessons. Instrumental lessons and braille music instruction is available.
Students access the music curriculum through hands on learning experiences, large print music, braille music and low vision music access technology.
Upper primary students are involved in the Primary Schools Festival of Music Choir.
SASSVI enjoys providing students with opportunties to experience live music. We work closely with Musica Viva in Schools to bring exciting, interactive performances to our school each year.
Students have the opportunity to pursue extracurricular musical opportunities including the SASSVI rock band. Rock Band is a voluntary lunch time activity that has been running since 2015.
Rock Band gives students the opportunity to play together as part of a group, to develop their listening skills, build confidence and gain performance experience.
