At SASSVI students are encouraged to use their bodies to explore, improvise and organise ideas to create and present artworks to an audience.
Students learn about the elements of music including space, time, dynamics and relationships.
Participating in dance provides opportunities for students to engage with the Expanded Core Curriculum for Students with Vision Impairment including: Orientation and Mobility (body and spatial awareness), Social Skills, Recreation and Leisure, and Career Education.
SASSVI have enjoyed collaborations with Restless Dance Theatre, Australian Dance Theatre and First Nations Dancer and Teaching Artist Adrianne Semmens.
