Contact & Collaboration
I am seeking expert collaborators from various disciplines to join me in impactful research investigating earwitness testimony and the factors influencing voice memory and recognition abilities. My aim is to improve legal practices concerning earwitness evidence through an interdisciplinary approach drawing from phonetics, psychology, neuroscience, and law.
Potential research goals we may explore together:
Developing standardised screening methods to evaluate the reliability of individual earwitnesses pre-trial
Elucidating sources of variability between individuals in voice processing using neurological and behavioral measures
Examining interactions between earwitness testimony procedures/questioning and memory accuracy
Enhancing law enforcement interview practices with earwitnesses to minimize bias and memory distortions
Translating scientific findings on voice recognition into concrete recommendations for policy and trial procedures
I welcome connections with speech scientists, psychologists, neuroscientists, legal scholars, forensic experts, law enforcement professionals, and others interested in reforming the use of earwitness testimony through empirical findings. Please reach out if you would like to collaborate on furthering theoretical and applied knowledge on this critical topic at the intersection of science and law.
