The Sargent Economic Development Committee [LB 840] sponsored the Entrepreneurial Community Activation Process (ECAP) in Sargent to help identify priorities and actions for the future. The ECAP process, led by Nebraska Extension, creates an opportunity for all community members to share their ideas on the future through a community-wide survey and a series of community conversations. The process is a holistic approach to help communities support growth by understanding their unique characteristics, community assets, and potential opportunities.
The last full Sargent ECAP Community Conversation #4 was held on Dec 15 and had excellent attendance [35]. Most participants signed up to serve on one of the action planning committees, which started meeting in January 2026.
There will be an all-committee meeting on Wednesday, February 11th, at 6:00 PM at Sargent High School-Business classroom. This session features Caleb Pollard from Valley County Economic Development, who will share his experience in planning and funding related planned initiatives.
Interested residents and stakeholders are encouraged to join an ongoing action planning committee by contacting the lead person listed in the Action Planning Committee reports below.
