The overarching goal is to rationally design proteins.
Structural changes in proteins (protein dynamics) is crucial for biological function. So to rationally design proteins, we need to understand how proteins have evolved and understand how dynamics was tuned, over the course of evolution, to design new functions.
Therefore, I am interested in developing computational models of protein dynamics using Molecular dynamics simulations data. Understanding regions of protein which critically control the protein dynamics will help us tailor the communication networks, to tune the conformational dynamics and thereby rationally design novel proteins.

I do not have any funded PhD or Post Doc positions available at the moment. If you are interested in my research, please send me an email and we can discuss funding opportunities.
Sabriyeh is studying coevolution data from a large database of proteins to understand how coevolution analysis using protein sequences, can be used for protein design.
