I am a Master's Art History student, writer, and aspiring curator with a deep passion for 20th-century art, museology, heritology, architecture, and literature. For over two years, I have been writing articles and conducting interviews for ArtBox Portal, exploring the intersection of art, culture, and socio-political change.
My curatorial ambition is driven by a fascination with the stories behind artworks — how they emerge from historical moments, political climates, and collective emotions. I am particularly drawn to sculpture, painting, and performance art, as well as the evolution of architecture throughout the 20th century. Beyond European and North American narratives, I am eager to uncover and document global artistic movements, weaving them into a broader, interconnected history of art.
In my undergraduate thesis in Art History, supervised by Professor Dr. Milan Popadić and written within the Museology and Heritology seminar, I conducted a museological interpretation of the art collection of the Main Hall, the Yugoslavia Hall, and the six surrounding Republic Halls of the Federal Executive Council building in Belgrade, today known as the Palace of Serbia.
The thesis presented the fundamental arguments concerning the art collection itself, as well as theoretical approaches and methods of museological interpretation of both the artworks and the interior spaces in which they are displayed.
The musealisation of the Federal Executive Council building initiated in my undergraduate thesis will be further developed in my master’s thesis, which will focus specifically on the Yugoslavia Hall, with the aim of providing a more detailed analysis of all elements involved in the musealisation of this space.
While my passion lies in 20th-century art and its historical context, my next step is immersing myself in contemporary art happenings, exploring new curatorial approaches, and questioning today’s most pressing social and artistic issues. I am especially interested in how contemporary art engages with ecology, nature, gender studies, and human rights, and how curation can create spaces for critical discourse and engagement.
Eager to gain hands-on experience, I am open to collaborations, assisting, and volunteering in curatorial projects with art institutions, galleries, and independent artists. In the future, I plan to deepen my knowledge in Management of Cultural and Media Industries to bridge the gap between art history, curation, and cultural production.
Traveling fuels my curiosity — I love exploring the spirit of a place, its history, politics, and philosophy, and seeing how they reflect in art and architecture. For me, curation is not just about assembling artworks — it’s about telling stories that resonate.
